Mint Finance: Ethical Investing

Branding, UX/UI strategy, and platform development for Sharia-compliant investment management.

Mint Finance is a UK-based investment manager dedicated to ethical finance under the principles of Sharia law. Through a peer-to-peer platform, the service connects investors with productive projects, promoting a profit-sharing model instead of traditional interest rates. We supported our client, Rolbac, in the end-to-end creation of this startup, translating a business model—where users can fund small business projects or apply for home financing—into an intuitive and professional digital platform. Our work ranged from conceptual brand definition to the design and development of an interface capable of managing the needs of investors, fund managers, and administrators.

Wireframing: Structuring a Business Model

Given Mint’s startup nature, the wireframing stage was crucial for materializing the service. We didn’t use them merely as design blueprints, but as a strategic architecture to define the narrative and, fundamentally, the operational logic of the entire platform.

This process allowed us to project and validate every touchpoint before moving to the final interface, ensuring that transactional flows and dashboards—for investors, managers, and admins alike—were clear and functional. We successfully translated complex concepts, such as the profit-sharing model, into an accessible user experience for profiles with varying levels of responsibility and access.

Multi-Profile Platform: UX for Finance

The core of the project was the design of the investment platform, which required crafting three distinct yet interconnected user experiences:

  1. Investor Portal: Focused on clarity and transparency, allowing for detailed tracking of account balances, market movements, and holding statuses.
  2. LLP Manager Dashboard: Designed for operational efficiency in high-complexity daily tasks, including bank reconciliations, inbound inquiry management, and income distribution schedules.
  3. Admin Console: A comprehensive control tool for user management, fund oversight, and general platform auditing.

Visual Identity: Nature & Geometry

Mint’s branding was developed in parallel with the front-end construction—a strategic decision that optimized time and resources, matching the agility required for a startup launch. The visual concept balances technical references with the project’s ethical foundation: the primary symbol is derived from Islamic geometric compositions, where the shapes subtly evoke a leaf to link the company name with the natural and healthy growth of finances.

Through a palette of emerald and mint tones, we achieved an identity that communicates authority and transparency in the British market. The symbolism was kept open and balanced enough to feel organic to the Islamic community while remaining attractive and trustworthy to non-Muslim audiences. The result is an inclusive visual language that positions Mint as an ethical and professional investment option for a global market.
