You are the Instrument

Identity and visual universe for a signature method focused on conscious musical composition

Facundo Reynal, musician and composer, approached us to shape the identity of his new educational project, You are the Instrument (YATI). The starting point was a common challenge: the need for a comprehensive visual system rather than just a logo, but a visual system capable of sustaining his social media communication and attracting students to his online course.

We supported YATI through an end-to-end process, from structuring the brand architecture to designing a visual system that bridges creative intuition with structural rigor. The result is a coherent signature identity, backed by a set of tools and guidelines that allow Facundo to manage his digital content with autonomy and professionalism.

Translating a Method into Concepts

Before designing, we needed words to inspire the graphics. We began by analyzing the script of his introductory class to decode his method and structure the brand architecture. We defined YATI as a “signature brand” where Facundo’s role is central: a guide proposing a systemic, trainable method.

We explored four conceptual paths focusing on different dimensions of the creative process: from the circularity of an “internal musical staff” to the golden ratio as a relational principle. This exploration allowed us to evaluate which graphic approach best represented a brand seeking to understand, organize, and train a musician’s creative availability.

The Space Where Music is Organized

The chosen concept centered on an idea rarely found in traditional musical education: silence and the pause as a prerequisite for sound. We took the fermata (a notation sign representing a conscious suspension) and transformed it into a symbol suggesting sustained tension, transition, and openness.

The visual system moves away from institutional or academic aesthetics to embrace a human and approachable feel. We implemented a treatment of blurred shapes and gradients that suggest vibration and resonance, representing that moment prior to form where sound is already in motion.

A System for Creative Independence

The ultimate goal was for the brand to have a life of its own across Facundo’s digital channels. After defining the graphic universe, we developed a template system that respects the visual atmosphere, typography, and color palette defined in the brand manual.

This approach empowers the author to create content for Instagram while maintaining the brand’s visual coherence.
